Typical examples include:
- Crankcase oil
- Transmission fluid
- Gear oils
- Hydraulic oils
Used Oil is not:
- Antifreeze
- Petroleum-derived solvents

- Oil with halogen (chlorine, bromine, fluorine, etc.) levels exceeding 1,000 ppm
- Oily water mixtures with water exceeding 10%
Technical Specifications:
- No PCBs (polychlorinated biphenyls)
- Chlorine < 1,000 ppm
- Silicon < 300 ppm
- Phosphorus < 1,400 ppm
- Organic phase > 80%
- Solids < 5%
- Flash point > 200°F
- pH 4-10
The used oil must not have been mixed with other materials, including but not limited to PCBs or other TSCA regulated or RCRA hazardous wastes.
- HCC does handle the majority of these materials, just not as used oil.
